Many of our customers after long-term use have encountered the experience of the broken film door latch on their Nikon 4004/ 5005/ 6006.
The doors have long since been discontinued by Nikon. However, don't fret, we have a reliable and cost-effective solution.
What we offer our customers is a new metal replacement latch which we then drill onto the door and attach. Door are retested after 24 hours for added quality assurance.
Cameras can be sent, but however broken doors can also be mailed in for service. See below for instructions.

INSTRUCTIONS:
Remove 3-4 screws on camera bottom near door hinge. Carefully tilt door out of hinge area and remove. Note do not touch any electronic areas & Keep track of which screws go where.
If you prefer, you can send in whole camera. Your total will then be $54.50 and $55.70 (MI residents) for additional shipping.
Please ship doors in padded mailers or small boxes for return shipping.
